Jo Wilburn
Jo Wilburn is a singer/songwriter who could chronicle her life with her songs. She has a varied background, having been a professional singer and entertainer, an actor, voice-over artist, radio on-air personality, announcer, show host, spokes-model, public speaker, published writer, and, before any of that, or sometimes during, a software engineer.
Through it all, writing, and especially songwriting has always been her constant passion and on-going pursuit. She says, “Through the years, I’ve learned that you cannot find happiness if you are denying the dream in your heart.”
JoAnn’s stories and articles have appeared in The Storyteller’s Writing on Walls Anthology, San Juan City Magazine, Journal of Systems Management, Contact Magazine, The Little Peoples Press, Collinsville News, and several other publications. Winds of Change, her first book, is a relationship story with interwoven content driven songs. Ladybug Press published it as a dramatic audio book performed by JoAnn Wilburn.
During the last couple of years, while stuck mostly at home, Jo has been writing a novel, which is nearly complete, and working on songs such as the most recently produced “Along for the Ride.”
Born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma, Jo moved from Oklahoma to Texas, to Puerto Rico, to Nashville, to Branson, and now back to Texas. She lives in Austin with her husband Dan Wilburn, a Nashville native, who is also an engineer, producer, and bass player extraordinaire.
